(1) at least a draft of the new text laws of east protected Areas of Burundi is validated by all relevant environnement stakeholders(2) At least a memorandum of involvement  the associations, the local groupings= , national associations working in the Rusizi natural reserve and INECN is signed  for the management of the Rusizi prot= ected area (3) At least a draft updated environmental code is validated by all relevant environmental stakeholders, notably local NGOs,international organisation, Government and parliamentarians.
( 4) in objective of fighting the effects of climatic changes, a nation= al workshop will be organized to debate on the strategy to promote the alter= native energies in addition to energy wood.

Workshop / Meeting report <= /span> 2011 (1) in  Burundi some protected areas notably those of the East of the coun= try have not legal statute that governs them (2) in our policies and strategi= es of conservation, there is a weakness of the involvement of the riverian communities in the co management of the Protected Areas (3)Although the current code was adopted in 2000, recent developments have made certain articles incompatible with current sustainable management challenges (e.g= low penalties that favours illegal off-takes, less involvement of local communities, etc.)
(4) The current text defining PA limits  is now in  parliament level waiting for adoption.
(5) The draft updated forestry code has been elaborated, validated and tabled in governement level for adoption. Insufficiencies are noticed in = the aforesaid draft forest code.It is now returned in revision and reactualization (6)In Burundi wood is a source of domestic energy to more= of 98%. Taken into consideration a demographic growth of 3% per year, it wil= l be very difficult to satisfy the demand  of wood in the next years and  succeed the challenges of the conservation of the forests .
